KNX Engineering Services

Design, installation & commissioning, ETS programming, and long-term technical support. One team covers the full KNX lifecycle — from functional specification to system evolution after move-in.

KNX System Design

Every project starts with a functional specification — a structured document that defines what each room does, which devices control what, and how subsystems interact. This document is what the electrical contractor builds from.

We design the KNX topology, define group address structures, select devices from manufacturers we trust (Ekinex, ABB, Theben, MDT), and produce wiring schematics — all before the first cable is pulled.

Deliverables

Functional specification (room-by-room feature matrix)KNX topology (lines, areas, power supplies, IP backbone)Group address structure and naming conventionDevice selection and bill of materialsWiring schematics for electrical contractorTouch panel layout and button assignment

Installation & Commissioning

Professional on-site installation of the KNX infrastructure and commissioning of the complete system. We assemble cabinets, mount devices, verify bus topology, and commission every function in every room.

We coordinate closely with the electrical contractor during rough-in and fit-out. Every device is labelled, every line is verified, and every function is tested on site before handover.

Deliverables

Cabinet assembly (DIN-rail mounting, wiring, labelling)Device installation on site (switches, sensors, actuators)Bus cabling verification and topology commissioningPower-up, individual addressing, ETS application downloadFunction-by-function testing in every roomClient walkthrough and handover documentation

ETS Programming

Programming is where the system comes to life. We use ETS to configure every device, link group addresses, build scenes, and define automation logic — then extend that logic into visualizations and third-party systems.

Integration reaches beyond pure KNX: HVAC gateways, intercom systems, multiroom audio, and visualization platforms are unified into a single control layer.

Deliverables

ETS project — full device configuration and group address linkingScene programming (lighting, climate, blinds per room and zone)Logic blocks (presence automation, time schedules, conditional rules)Third-party integration (HVAC gateways, Sonos, intercom, CCTV)Touch panel UI configuration (Ekinex Delego, Basalte, ABB)Mobile and web-based visualization setup

Technical Support

A KNX system is not a fire-and-forget installation. Preferences change, seasons shift, new rooms get added. We provide ongoing support so the system evolves with you.

Most adjustments are done remotely via secure connection. Hardware changes or expansion require an on-site visit. Annual health checks keep the system optimized.

Deliverables

Post-move-in adjustments (scenes, schedules, preferences)Seasonal reconfiguration (heating/cooling mode transitions)System expansion (new rooms, devices, integrations)Remote diagnostics via secure connectionFirmware updates and security patchesAnnual system health check and optimization report

Technology we use

We work exclusively with KNX — the only open, manufacturer- independent standard for building automation. Within the KNX ecosystem, we select devices based on reliability and long-term availability.
